Event Description

For more information on coderetreat (until we get this description finished), check out 'How It Works' on coderetreat.com http://www.coderetreat.com/

We will be hosting at Bletchley Park. This is a fantastic venue, filled with history of computing. We are hoping to get a tour or presentation from the kind folks there. They hold an important place in our history, and, like with most places, they are in financial need.

The coderetreat organisers would appreciate it if attendees made a donation to the upkeep of this international treasure, arguably the birthplace of modern computing. Suggested donation £25 ( a bargain considering coffee, tea and lunch throughout the day will be free).

This will be a 'language of your choice' coderetreat. Please bring the editor of your choice. However, be prepared to pair in other languages, as well. As always, though, this day is not about learning a new language, it is about honing your fundamental software development skills. To that end, please stick to a language that you are comfortable in and that others will be, as well.

We are initially limiting to 30 people until we figure out the actual capacity.

I'd like to thank RiverGlide and Eden Development for sponsoring this coderetreat. They have done a great job of both organizing and funding the great food we are going to have.

Thank you all for an insightful and enjoyable day. I learnt various fresh ways to approach TDD, a little RSPEC and met some clever and friendly folk to boot. Visiting Bletchley Park was also a great idea and I will return.

One of my thoughts is how to apply a similar concept (of pairing sessions) to software testing.

Is anyone driving from London?

If anyone else from the Midlands area would like to go I have space in the car for a fellow developer. I'm leaving from Derby very early on Saturday.

I am confused about how to find the venue. Is entrance on Sherwood drive as in this map ?

Done! Looking forward to it!

Well, you can always pair with others on their computers! Come!

Would like to attend this, but not entirely sure subjecting people to the experiment of pairing on an eee would be fair!
